Extensions

We have worked on a wide range of extensions on a variety of properties including listed buildings, stone cottages, new builds and timber framed. Take a look below to see before, during and after shots of some of our extensions.

This kitchen extension in Colerne is a typical example of the work we carry out on stone cottages where it is vital that we create a building that is in keeping with the original stone work.

This is an example of a new building that we created to include a stable, garage and workroom. Work was completed to National Trust specifications as the property was situated within the grounds of Durham Park.

A delightful property in Colerne where the clients wanted a double garage and a new entrance hall to be created. This extension highlights bath stone masonry and rubble stone walling.

To the rear of a 60s end of terrace property we created a kitchen/utility extension to increase downstairs space. (The garden was also improved and the results can be seen under Patio, Fencing and Boundary Walls).

This lovely little cottage in Colerne has had two timber framed, rubble stone clad extensions, providing a new double bedroom and dining area. Timber framing is an efficient and cost effective method of creating new spaces. This cottage also displays a feature window and cedar cladding on the end gable which fades over time to a silvery grey colour blending in nicely with the stonework.

In order to make use of a redundant space outside of this roadside property, a large porch extension was created to add a usable area to this wonderful rubble stone cottage.

Following the removal of an external wall a new kitchen/diner was created at the rear of this beautiful country cottage in Colerne. An oak-framed sun room finished the new space off perfectly.

Outbuilding Rebuild

This derelict barn sat on the property of a country house in Colerne. Due to its state it required a rebuild from ground up. Following the reclamation of the original stone and tiles we began the reconstruction of the barn, which incorporated two Douglas fir trusses on the interior of the building. A small WC was also fitted to the rear of the building, along with a small store room. Upon completion of the build
